#74: Trauma & Chronic Pain with Psychotherapist Julia Hochstadt

In this weeks episode, Psychotherapist, Julia Hochstadt joins us to discuss the relationship between trauma & chronic pain. Julia specializes in working with victims of crime, trauma and interpersonal violence. She previously led New York Presbyterian's Victim Intervention Program (VIP) providing acute emergency room support, counseling, and case management services to crime and trauma victims and their families; prior to that she worked at The Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention (SAVI) Program at Mount Sinai Hospital in a similar capacity.

With April being sexual assault awareness month, this episode came at the perfect time. Julia walks us through the ways in which all forms of trauma (physical, mental & emotional) can create chronic pain and what we can do to help heal ourselves.

We also discuss the multi-faceted trauma around the current global pandemic. Julia provides us with insight, coping mechanisms and resources that we can utilize throughout this time.

Last but not least, Julia is offering all V Hive listeners 10% off their first session with her. All you have to do is contact her through her website, www.therapywithjulia.com and let her know you heard about her on The V Hive.
